You Don’t Have To “Clean Up Your Act”
At it’s most basic and clear level, the Law of Attraction only requires that you live your life and feel good in order for you to be in a constant state of becoming and having everything you could ever imagine. Sound crazy? “Then, why isn’t it like that?”, you ask. So why then, do we not have the life we want? The nice people, the perfect house, the full bank balance, the romantic, sexy partner, (fill in the blank)?
“Manifestation” or creating the life that you want is made up of some very basic steps, though easier to write about than to live, but well worth the practise:
Asking
As you encounter life, you develop preferences as a natural consequence of just living and as you encounter each and every situation, you send out a request for what you’d like next. The request is sent out into the Universe without you having to “do” anything extra at all. You have an encounter with an unpleasant person, you automatically send out a desire for meeting pleasant people. You live in a house that feels too small, you automatically send out a desire for a bigger house. Even when you experience things you like, you automatically look for how it can be improved and automatically send out a message to the Universe of the next improvement and Law of Attraction responds.
I absolutely fell in love with my new house the moment I saw it and loved moving in, yet, as soon as I did, I began to think of what extra things would make it even better, so I know that I now have a new house waiting somewhere for me, when I’m ready for it, that has all the best of this one, PLUS the improvements I’d love. And the moment I find that dream house, I know I’ll almost immediately be inspired to think of the additional features that will make great even better. We are designed to improve, to expand, to desire and that’s the easy bit.
Allowing
This is the step that causes the most problems for most of us. You see, as soon as we send out the desire, Law of Attraction automatically begins getting things together for us to have what we want. If we could just send out a desire and then never think about that thing again and just do other things that make us feel happy and peaceful, we would offer absolutely no resistance and whatever we had requested an improvement on would just arrive in due course. Doesn’t that sound easy?
So, when you go to your bank account and see that it’s emptier than you’d like, you automatically send out a desire that you’d like more money. If thinking about money usually gives you a good feeling, it’ll be easy to just begin thinking thoughts about more coming in. You’ll know you’re well on the way to manifesting more, easily, when you notice that you’re feeling good while thinking about money.
However, if money or not having enough of it is something that you usually think about in an attitude of resistance, that is, you often feel bad when you think about it, it would be most useful if you could take your mind off of the subject altogether and instead find distracting thoughts and activities that make you feel good. If you could just keep your mind off of the topic of money or bills or anything that you need money for and instead only do something that keeps you feeling peaceful and happy and optimistic, like stroking your pet or going for a walk or whatever it is that occupies your thoughts with something good, you would manifest the “more money” that you want.
And by “manifest”, I do literally mean that, whether by getting an inspiration of an action to take that lets it in in such a way that you don’t find yourself using the words “hard work”, getting unexpected checks or new clients, or just finding notes and rolls of notes all over the place, (including under trees or in the rock pool in the sea he’d just sat down in, like my husband did on one holiday where he’d decided to manifest money to supplement our fun fund), you’ll just create an easy, seemingly effortless path for the money to reach you. It is one of the reasons that Abraham suggest people meditate to empty their minds, as they say that we find it easier to have no thought on a subject (and therefore no resistance), than to purely hold a thought of what we want, with no doubt or negation (resistance) whatsoever for even as long as a minute.
Tools To Help
If you are acutely aware of what it is you want (because you don’t have it yet) and you put the Law of Attraction tools to work, noticing that you haven’t got the money/partner/attitude you want yet and so sit down to visualize and “work” on your vision board and write out your affirmations, all to help you get from where you are to where you want to be, you are including, in every action, the vibration of lack. And including the vibration of lack, of what you don’t have yet, simply cancels out the vibration of what you’re trying to create in your life.
If you could just not ever think again about something that you’ve launched an intention for, the Universe would bring it to you, every time. That’s why we sometimes have those strange random manifestations of things or events in our life that we don’t have a lot attached to, because, once we thought “oh, that’d be fun to do, or fun to have” and then didn’t give it another thought, we didn’t prevent it’s arriving.
However, it can be tricky to keep your mind off of topics that you already have a lot of resistance to, so here are my suggestions, especially in the beginning (or close to an event of strong contrast):
- Stop thinking about “it” briefly and go do something you like
listen to music that gives you energy
sit outside and watch your kids play, birds fly, whatever
read or listen to someone inspiring (keep a load handy on your iPod)
keep a list of uplifting or funny YouTube videos that only take a few minutes each to watch
do a craft, paint, cook
read a blog (like mine LOL)
- Shift your energy with one of Brad Yates’ intuitive tapping sessions. He is my Number 1 stop when I’m stuck in a negative mindset. He has a load of free videos on YouTube or you can get loads of resources from his website here
- When you’ve started feeling better, then try using your virtualizations, affirmations and/or vision board, just for the sheer pleasure of, in the moment, living the life that’s on order for you, not as a “tool to create what you want”

Receiving
You’ll find, that if you can just shift to thoughts that give you a better feeling, Law of Attraction will help you by bringing you more positive thoughts and experiences so that, on any topic, it does slowly get easier to just focus on creating what you desire … and easily receiving it!
The fact is, that you don’t need to “clean up your act” on any subject to be able to manifest it, if you can remove all resistance to allowing it by either only thinking positively about it or not thinking about it at all.
The point of life, from my perspective isn’t to avoid the contrast, or the things that we don’t like, it’s to encounter them, use them to define our preference of what we do want, and then to let those preferences in!

Great Post. I have been practicing these techniques for a few months now and you are SO correct. Attributing positive feelings to the areas of life you are trying to improve is more beneficial than words can express. Keep posting positive things!
